Play...?

I saw a play the other night-- Steve Martin's "Picasso at the Lapin Agile." What I saw, though, was no "play" at all. Rather, it was an exhibition of philosophy. The plot places Picasso and Einstein together in a bar, where they discuss their contributions to the world. Basically, relativism ruled the day.

The state of some churches today disturbs me. I attended a drama at a Baptist church this past Sunday night. The "gospel presentation" went something like this: "You simply have to pray this simple prayer and ask Jesus into your heart. Just believe and pray this simple prayer, confess your sins, and you'll be saved." I sat there, thinking how utterly destructive this preaching is. How watered down it was. There was almost no mention of turning from your sins, not merely confessing them, and turning to follow God. Christ must be accepted as Lord.

And so it begins...

Floccinaucinihilipilification-the estimation of something as valueless
